Oct. 24, 2020.Plato's dialogues can be read as palimpsests themselves. They are the attempt to scrape off the texts of myth, art and manticism and to overwrite them with a rational discourse. Yet in his writings, these lower layers remain visible and repeatedly come to light. It is precisely this contrapuntal aspect that makes up the identity of his "music" and stimulated controversies that still occupy us today. Because his philosophy is so polyphonic, uniform at first glance, but at second glance extremely multilayered, it has remained alives, a constant source of Western thought and still inspires and moves me today.
